We are working on organizing Alumot get-togethers throughout the country! Check

Alumot
is run entirely through the help of volunteer organizers and hosts there
are no paid organizers. So if you are able to help organize or host in your area,

Yad VaShem has put on-line the Central Database of Shoah Victim's names.
This project is the result of decades of work by Yad VaShem in gathering the names
of Holocaust martyrs. To search for a name, go to http://www.yadvashem.org/wps/portal/IY_HON_Welcome.
If you know of names of Holocaust martyrs who are not listed, please contact Yad
VaShem to give your testimony.
Hazon, the Jewish environmental
organization, is planning an amazing trip to Israel - a bike ride from Jerusalem
to Eilat, over 5 days with riders from Israel and North America. The ride is a
fun, fabulous way to experience Israel; it looks quite different perched on a
bicycle seat. The full title of the Ride is 2005 Arava Institute Hazon Israel
Ride: Cycling for Peace, Partnership & Environmental Protection, and as you
can see by the name, you'll explore the countryside, meet new people, and learn
about environmental issues in Israel and the Middle East. We hope that you can
join them, and even if you can't make it, please pass the word on to those who
might be interested in participating in this unique experience. If you want

Masters in Education through a joint program at Hebrew University and Pardes.

dedicated to the performance of the vivacious music of Mizrahi (Middle Eastern

Past Chevre Ari Messer is looking to start a small Torah
study and meditation group to meditate and study Torah together once a week

New Minyan in Brookline, MA. The Washington Square Minyan will be holding its
first Shabbat services the week of Parshat Beshalach, January 22, 2005 at 9:15am.
Services will be held at 1566 Beacon Street in Brookline, MA (the downstairs chapel

The Washington Square Minyan is an independent congregation, guided by halacha

Volunteer with Hadar at Ansche Chesed Homeless
Shelter. The Homeless Shelter at Ansche Chesed provides a safe, clean
place to stay every night for 10 men who are trying to transition out of homelessness.
Volunteers from Hadar have been staffing the overnight shift at the homeless shelter
at Ansche Chesed every Tuesday night for nearly a year. Whether you are one of
the people who have made this happen, or if you have been meaning to volunteer,
there is room for you to sign up for this important and relatively easy work.

What is Our Minyan? Our Minyan is
a young, spiritual, Jewish community. We meet every few weeks or so in community
members' homes in the Seattle area for Kabbalat Shabbat (usually Carlebach melodies)
and Maariv service followed by some sort of social function, either dessert, vegetarian
potluck, singing, or Torah study. OurMinyan Services are completely egalitarian
and open to people with all levels of Jewish experience and knowledge. Depending
on the leader, parts of Kaballat Shabbat and/or Maariv may be abridged. You do
not need to RSVP in order to join us, but please remember to bring something to
contribute to the potluck. We are always looking for people to take initiative
and leadership, people to lead services, host Minyans, or help coordinate the

in April - On Sunday, April 17, 2005, the D.C. Minyan will join over 500 volunteers
from the Washington area Jewish community to participate in the annual "Sukkot
in April" home repair program sponsored by Yachad. D.C. Minyan volunteers
will paint, clean, plaster, and renovate the home of a lower-income, elderly,
and/or disabled D.C. resident. Please let us know as soon as possible that you
are interested, so we can decide if the minyan has enough people to participate.
